PORTFOLIO CONSTRUCTION AND ASSESSMENT: A portfolio is a selection of materials (artifacts) chosen
by the learner to show what he or she has learned and what the learner is
able to do. In a teacher education program, the portfolio demonstrates the
learner's growth toward the goals of becoming a teacher and meeting professional
standards. The educational activities in MID ED 4253 are constructed,
sequenced, and distributed in such a way as to enable the student to engage
in portfolio construction and reflective self-assessment.
