Academic Achievement

When our founders were searching for a symbol to represent our great Fraternity over 100 years ago, they looked to the time honored maxim "the pen is mightier than the sword" as their inspiration. The Quill of Alpha Xi Delta was chosen to represent the emphasis that Alpha Xi Delta's everywhere place on academics.

To become a member of Alpha Xi Delta, you must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative college GPA or 2.75 high school GPA. Once you are a member, there are a myriad of programs to help you succeed in the classroom.

The Epsilon Xi Chapter has its own Academic Achievement Chairwoman who not only has access to each woman's grades (with permission, of course), but who also oversees that study hours are completed, and comes up with fun and innovative ways to help encourage academic success. Some of these ideas include: study buddies, tutoring programs, mandatory study hours, the "A" Book, and the "No Skip" Book and the "Skip Jar" , which are passed around at weekly meetings.

In addition, the Alpha Xi Delta Foundation offers thousands of dollars in scholarships for collegiate members. These scholarships are offered to initiated freshmen through seniors, in a wide variety of courses of study. Scholarships are also available through the chapter's Alumnae Association or Corporation Board.
