Campus Resources and Services
Health and Wellness Services
Health services for UMSL students are available in Health, Wellness and Counseling on the first floor of the Millennium Student Center. Visits are typically free, but some treatments such as immunizations may have a cost. The clinic treats patients who are experiencing issues including acute illness and injuries, ongoing health conditions, routine health visits, sexual health, mental health, immunizations, and disease/infection testing. Care is provided by Nurse Practitioners. Referrals and medication prescriptions are provided when deemed necessary. To make an appointment call M-F 8:30 AM-5 PM 314-516-5671.
Free services designed to help achieve professional goals, including resume assistance, mock interviews, and access to an online database with current internship and job opportunities. Additionally, career interest inventories and other career assessments are available. To make an appointment visit the Career Services website, click on staff and select the appropriate person.
Counseling Services are available to UMSL students in Health, Wellness and Counseling on the first floor of the Millennium Student Center. The initial counseling visit is free. Additional visits are $10. The fee can be reduced or excused if it is a barrier to services. No one will be turned away for an inability to pay. In addition to one-on-one counseling several workshops and support groups are available. To make an appointment call M-F 8 AM-5 PM (314) 516-5711.
Student Social Services
Student Social Services are available to UMSL students at Health, Wellness, and Counseling at the Millennium Student Center. This service is free. Student Social Services assists students with resources and assistance with housing counseling, access to food, child care resources, understanding benefits, and resources for other financial crisis or urgent needs. Community Psychological Service
The Community Psychological Service (CPS) is located on the first floor of Stadler Hall--#232. CPS provides short and long-term psychological services to UMSL students and residents of the St. Louis area. The fees for the service are low and are based on income. To make an appointment call (314) 516-5824 between 9 AM and 8 PM M-Th. and 9 AM and 5 PM F-Sat.
Center for Trauma Recovery
The Center for Trauma Recovery is located in the Kathy J. Weinman Building on UMSL south campus. The Center for Trauma and Recovery is a multiservice trauma center dedicated to providing specialized services to trauma survivors. The focus is on highly effective, short-term therapy for the treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The center provides therapy for any traumatic event. Counseling and Social Advocacy Center
The Counseling and Social Advocacy Center is on South Campus and provides sliding scale counseling to individuals, couples, and families ($10 for UMSL students). They offer group and play therapy. To make an appointment call 314-516-4613.
The University Center for Eye Care offers complimentary eye exam for all enrolled UMSL students ($20-$30 for contact exam) and a discount on the purchase of frames and contacts. To make an appointment contact 314-516-5131. Their hours are Monday / Wednesday 8:30 AM -8:00 PM; Tuesday/Thursday 8:30 AM -4:30 PM and Friday 8:30 AM -12:30 PM.
Disability Access Services
Disability Access Services offers individualized appropriate accommodations and services, and help for students with disabilities develop and maintain independence and self-advocacy skills for college and beyond.
