Wireless Internet Access

System Requirements

Laptop with 802.11b/ 802.11g Wireless Network Adapter
You will need a laptop with a wireless network adapter that supports the 802.11b and/or 802.11g standards. If your laptop does not have built-in wireless, you may purchase a PC card from the University Bookstore or an electronics retail store. Please see the known issues page for more information about card compatibility.

Cisco VPN Client
UM-St. Louis provides the Cisco VPN Client, which is required for secure campus resouces. This software solution provides greater security in authentication and data transfer as compared to ordinary wireless networks.

Gateway (SSO) ID
You will need to use your Gateway (Single Sign-On) ID to download and use the Cisco VPN software that connects you to the wireless network. Look up your SSO ID
