Student Email
Studentmail is designed for the distribution of UM-St. Louis official email. This page is to help you understand how to use your account.
All students currently registered for on-campus classes have a Studentmail account.
- Student Email accounts will be active on the day they are admitted.
- Your username for Studentmail is your SSO ID.
- Your password for Studentmail is your default SSO ID password.
Do you know your SSO ID?
- You will need your SSO ID username and password to access your Studentmail account.
- If you have not obtained this information, please visit http://sso.umsl.edu and click Lookup Your ID.
Checking your Studentmail account
The easiest way to check your Studentmail account is to go
to http://studentmail.umsl.edu/ from
virtually any computer with Web access.
- Your username and password correspond to your SSO ID username and password.
- Your email address will be ssoid @studentmail.umsl.edu, using your own SSO ID.
- You will need to obtain and activate your SSO ID and password to access your accounts and log into studentmail. To do so you must visit http://sso.umsl.edu and click Activate Your Account.
Forwarding mail
If you wish, you may forward mail from your studentmail account
to another email account. In order to forward your studentmail
to another email account, log into My Gateway, click on the Student
tab at the top of the page, under the Toolbox click on 'Email Forwarding'
and follow the directions. You can also be taken directly to the forwarding
page by clicking here. Please
note that the university cannot guarantee the security or reliability
of your receiving mail at any third-party account.
Admiral Email Accounts
Students who use email on Admiral may continue to use those
accounts, however the studentmail address is your official email address,
and all official university communication will be sent to that address.
