The Technology Support Center is here to assist with your ITS computing needs.
We will be happy to assist you with:
- University-provided software. (MS Windows, MS Office, MS Internet Explorer, Netscape)
- University-provided computing services
- (My Gateway(Blackboard), Studentmail, Exchange mail
- Status of campus systems
- Account requests
- Password resets
- Software installs
- Bad floppy diskettes (Please drop by the office for this)
- Wireless Networking (Please drop by the office for this)
- Limited Wireless Networking with PDA
We are unable to assist with:
- Palm and other handheld computers or tablet PCs
- Software not provided by the university
- Web pages (Departments must contact the Web Office, Student Organizations may contact Student Activities)
- Home computers, unless inquiries are related to University computing services
Billing Procedures:
Diagnostics, repair and installation of provided software is included as a part of the Desktop System Plan. You can view the software covered by the DSP Plan at this website:

Installation of software not covered by the DSP Plan is performed at the rate of $75.00 per hour (half hour minimum; thereafter in half hour increments).
Installation or repair of any hardware that is not part of the original DSP computer is performed at the rate of $75.00 per hour (half hour minimum; thereafter in half hour increments).

Employment Opportunities
Student positions in the TSC open from time to time.

Applicant requirements:
- Must be a registered student with the intention to continue as a student at UMSL for at least one year.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot/solve computing problems
- Experience with Windows 95/98/2000/XP, Macintosh, Internet/World Wide Web, Microsoft Office
- Additional skills desired: basic knowledge of dialup, wireless and ethernet network configurations
- Ability to work up to 20 hours per week
