VPN Configuration Instructions for Macintosh OS X

Note: These instructions assume that you have already installed the Cisco VPN client onto your Macintosh. If you need to download the client, please click here.

If you have already installed the client, you can find it within the Applications folder of your Macintosh HD. You may open it by double-clicking on the VPNClient icon.


Click the New icon at the top, or select New from the Connection Entries menu.


A new window will appear for you to enter information about the VPN connection. For the Connection Entry type umsl, and for the Host, enter 134.124.99.1. You may leave the Description field blank.


For the Group Authentication section, you will enter the group Name of facstaff or student, if you are a faculty/staff member or a student, respectively. For faculty/staff, use the group Password of wf!1904. Students should use marktwain for this field.



To complete the setup, click the Save button


To connect to the Campus VPN, click on the Connect button.


The VPN will prompt you for a username and password. Enter your GatewayID and password and hit OK.


You are now connected to the UM-St. Louis VPN! You now have access to Campus and Internet resources. When you are finished, simply click the Disconnect button.
