Resolving Problems
Resolving problems with Symantec Antivirus and Secure Socket Layer e-mail.
Turning off this feature does not turn off your antivirus program. It only disables the ability to scan the emails when sending or receiving them. Your emails will still be scanned before they are opened to protect your system.

If you see this error when attempting to send mail using SSL you must modify your Symantec Antivirus settings to disable e-mail protection.

1. Click Start -> Programs -> Symantec Client Security -> Symantec Antivirus
2. Click Configure -> Internet E-mail Auto-Protect
3. Uncheck Enable Internet E-mail Auto-Protect
