Saving Your Work and Using Your MyGateway Courses in other Semesters
There are two ways to save course content from your MyGateway course sites; Archiving and Exporting. Both options generate a packaged zip file which can be saved to your local computer and/or imported into another MyGateway course site.
To access these utilities go to the course you want to save content from, click on the Control Panel and select Export Course or Archive Course onder Course Options. If you want to save ALL the course content, choose Archive Course; if you want to select some content but not all, select Export Course
If you want to reuse your existing MyGateway course site choose Recycle Course--please note: selecting this option will DELETE all course content.
Archive a Course:
Through control panel choose Archive Course under Course Options.

The below screen appears which gives you the option to Export or Archive the course. Export allows you to choose specific areas to include in your export package, i.e. Course Documents, Staff Information, Discussion Board (Please Note: only forums and threads are retrieved not the replies.) Archive will allow you to save all the course content. Choose Archive.

Click submit

You will receive a message that indicates your request has been queued. Click OK.

Once the process is complete an email will be sent to your outlook email address stating that the operation is complete and the file may be downloaded through the control panel. The file appears as a log within your course site. Although a packaged zip file has been created you need to save that file to a local drive. You can click on the link and choose Save to move it to a local drive or you can right click on the link and choose Save. Once you have saved the file you can choose the REMOVE button to remove it from your site.

Follow the same steps above to Export a course. Again, the difference is that this feature will allow you to choose materials you want to include in the export package.
The Course Recycler removes content and data so that the Course may be taught again. Use this option when you want to clear content from an existing course. But PLEASE NOTE: Information removed when the Course is recycled cannot be restored! Use the Archive Course feature to create a permanent record of the Course prior to recycling.
The Import Package option allows you to add content that has been previously saved by you and packaged as a zip file (such as an Archived course file).
The Export Course option can be used when you want to selectively save some (but not all) files from your MyGateway course site. Export packages are useful for reusing materials from the course. If you wish to create a package to serve as a record of the course after it is finished, use the Archive Course tool.
Use the Course Copy option when you have files that you want to copy to other courses; you can select the files that you want to copy and they will appear in any course you select.
