New Discussion Board Enhancements

Forum and Thread Grading
Grading options are available through the discussion board. Instructors can choose to grade the forum or enable thread grading. In addition there is a "Manage" option available in the discussion board which allows any user with the "Grader" or "Manager" role access to the Grade Forum Users page.

Rate Posting
Great for peer discussions, users can now rate posts in the forum on a scale of one to five stars.

Thread Subscriptions
This feature alerts users that a new post has been added to a thread. If instructors choose to enable this option users will receive email notification via their student email when new posts have been submitted.

Search Feature
The search feature allows users to search for current discussion boards or all discussion in the course. You can also search by keywords i.e Author; to view posts by authors, date; to view posts by dates in which they were created.

Total # of Posts
Displays the total # of posts including unread posts and total #of
participants.

Manage Forum Roles
This feature is great for group discussions. It allows the instructor to designate forum roles which include: moderator, reader, manager, participant, grader and blocked.
