Pronto is an instant messaging and voice chat tool made by Wimba:
Features include:
- Works with MyGateway to automatically populate students' contact lists from their courses
- Allows students, instrutors and classmates to spontaneously meet live online anytime
- Provides a robust collaborative environment for students and instructors to interact
- Allows for convenient real-time communication with your instructor and classmates
Additional collaborative features:
- Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Audio
- Group Instant Messaing (IM)
- Real-time collaboration and active group participation
- Builds a community of social netorking within a course by encouraging student-to-student interaction
- Instant text and audio
- Personalized user profiles

You will need access to an internet browser (e.g Internet Explorer, Firefox)
- Type in http://mygateway.umsl.edu
- Enter your SSO ID and password
- Select Communication (course menu bar on left)
- Choose Pronto
- Click the link that reads "Go Pronto"
- Create your Pronto account (*remember to agree to terms indicated)
- Click submit
You will receive a message to check your email
- Click the E-mail tab located in MyGateway
- The email will have a subject line which reads: Pronto Account Activation
- Click on the link in the email to activate account
- Select Download Pronto
- Save the file to your local drive (e.g. desktop)
- Filename is: ProntoSetup.exe
- Click on file and choose Run
- Follow installation instructions
