Instructional Computing

TEC Policies

Use of Technology Enchanced Classrooms and Lecture Halls (TEC) on the campus of the University of Missouri at St.Louis is regulated by the Instructional Computing staff in accordance with the following policy:

  • No food, or drink, is allowed in any of the Technology Enhanced Classrooms
  • The TEC's are locked when not in use to safeguard the computer equipment. Instructional Computing student staff will lock and unlock these classrooms before and after their scheduled use. Unless arrangements are made otherwise, all classrooms are opened a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the scheduled classtime, and closed 10 minutes after the scheduled ending time. The only exception are the three classrooms with notebook computers (CCB 003, CCB 005, and SCC 103) which will not be opened without the teaching faculty present.
  • Only faculty and staff at UM-St. Louis may reserve a TEC for instructional use. A faculty or staff member from the requesting department must be present when these facilities are being used. Reservation requests will be taken over the telephone at extension 6852 or via our online request form. Should students need to practice or prepare for presentations in the TEC's, the faculty teaching the course should call and reserve time for them to do so. Please call at least one working day in advance. For ease of administration, we ask that you attempt to reserve SSB 131, 132, or 133 for this purpose.
  • Groups from outside the UM-St. Louis campus may arrange to rent a TEC by contacting the Continuing Education Office of UM-St. Louis at extension x6590. Such groups will agree to abide by all rules and regulations of the UM-St. Louis campus while using the computer facilities and accept responsibility for damage by their negligence or misuse.  Special software needs will be addressed on a case by case basis, and ONLY if adequate lead time is given.
  • Deviations from the above policy must be approved by Kenneth Voss (x6987) and will only be considered on a limited basis.
