Course Development

Using technology to teach involves time spent planning, authoring, and instructing in a new environment. The time required may shift from instructing to planning and authoring, depending on the amount of web-based, self-directed or collaborative learning you design and develop.

Advocates for technology-assisted instruction have identified the following skills needed for effective learning. You and your students ideally should have the abilities to:

  • Assess online resources
  • Problem-solve in real-world situations
  • Facilitate online work
  • Collaborate
  • Exchange feedback regularly
