Distance education has always relied upon the latest technology to cross the
distance between campus and the remote learner. Historically, you will find
that credit and non-credit distance education has usually been the first campus
activity to jump on the latest technology bandwagon. Many distance education
instructional designers have seen a long line of outreach technologies come and
go, while learning and adapting their methodology and experience to each new medium.
