Importance of Instructional Goals & Objectives (:54) |
Irani: I
think it's very important. I think we always want to start from the ultimate
product or outcome for our students, and then work our way backward. It's even
more important in a distant course, because the structure is crucial for what
the students will be able to take away. Having goals and understanding how
those goals tie with objectives and the activities and instructional materials
gives you the opportunity to structure the course so that students get out of
it what you hope they will be able to achieve, in terms of learning and
satisfaction.
Rudd: The goals and objectives can help me decide the best way to
deliver material. They can help me in preparing a lecture or preparing a video
or a PowerPoint set. It's a good way to keep me focused.
