Buying back a computer from bITS

A department may choose to buy a computer back from bITS as it is replaced with a newer computer.  There is a one-time cost associated with purchasing the computer from bITS, which officially transfers the computer from ITS's inventory to the department's inventory.

If a computer is 4 years old or older, the one-time cost to buy the computer back from bITS is $200.  If the computer is less than four years old, the one-time cost to buy the computer back from bITS is the pro-rated cost of the remaining life of the computer with a minimum cost of $200.

Please reference the Computer System Support and End-of-life Policy regarding support of computers bought back from bITS.

ITS can sell a computer back to a department with a valid MoCode.  Individuals that want to purchase a computer using personal funds should contact Procurement Services for Surplus Property.
