Lacey Ahlemeyer
Missouri S & T

Lacey Ahlemeyer is a sophomore majoring in Economics with minors in Business, Politics and Public Policy, and Political Science. At Missouri S&T, she is active in Associated Students of the University of Missouri, Student Council, and Chi Omega. Last year she was able to intern at Jefferson City as a registered lobbyist for the Associated Students of the University of Missouri. While there, she lobbied for the equalization of the Access Missouri Scholarship and she continues this work today as a Board Member. She is currently working on Tommy Sowers’ campaign for Missouri’s 8th district U.S. Representative in both the fundraising and public policy division. After graduation, she plans to join the Peace Corp or Teach for America, complete law school and then pursue a career in politics. She enjoys volunteering, attending Mass, and hopes to one day visit every state capital.

Zarah Ahmad
Southeast Missouri State University

Zarah Ahmad is a junior at Southeast Missouri State University. She is currently triple majoring in physics, physics engineering: computer applications option, and applied mathematics. On campus she has been involved with the Jane Stephens Honors program, Student Government, Emerging Leaders, College Democrats, the McNair program, and Physics Club. In the spring of 2009 Zarah participated in a unique program offered at Southeast in which she had the opportunity to attend a week long seminar in Washington DC. Last summer she participated in a Research Experience for Undergraduates at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, where she carried out research related to particle detection. She presented this research at the American Physics Society Department of Nuclear Physics Conference for Undergraduates. She will be participating in another REU this summer at Purdue University. Zarah wants to go on to graduate school, and eventually obtain a PhD in physics, and pursue a career in research or science policy.

Ashleigh Bartlett
University of Missouri-Columbia

Ashleigh is originally from Fort Scott, Kansas and moved to Kansas City in 2001. She attended Liberty Public Schools and was involved in many school and extracurricular activities including Orchestra, Softball, Student Council, National Honor Society, and Model United Nations. Currently a Junior at the University of Missouri, Ashleigh is pursuing degrees in Political Science and French, as well as minors in Leadership and Public Service, Music, and History. When not in class, Ashleigh is most likely devoting her time to organizations such as Alpha Phi Omega, Phi Kappa Phi, and RUF, or playing a game of Apples to Apples with her friends.

Vianey Beltran
Truman State University

A junior at Truman State University, Vianey is pursuing a degree in Political Science with a minor in Communication. She has been named to the Provost’s List for five consecutive semesters. Vianey is involved with many community and campus organizations and has held many leadership roles. She has served as the Vice-President of the Hispanic American Leadership Organization (HALO) and is greatly involved in her social sorority, Delta Zeta. In addition, she volunteers at the Kirksville Part-Day Head Start as a teacher’s aide. Vianey has also had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Missouri Government Internship Program and intern in Governor Jay Nixon’s office. Because of her passion for helping others, Vianey plans to continue her education after graduation in May 2011 by either attending law school or pursuing a master’s degree in Political Science.

Rhoda Bryan
Lincoln University
Rhoda Bryan is a senior majoring in Secondary Education with a minor in Political Science. She has received the Viola Young Scholarship and the Institutional Scholarship. She has interned for Senator Tom Dempsey while he was Majority Leader in the House of Representatives and for Senator Brad Lager. Rhoda has been a Supplemental Instruction Leader for two years covering history and mathematics. She has been the President of the Community Connection of Lincoln University (CCLU), a member of the SGA senate, a student ambassador, and a member of Phi Alpha Theta. Rhoda also teaches a Sunday school class at her local church. Her presentation was entitled, ”The Challenges of a First-Year Teacher.” She coordinated a panel discussion of local elementary and secondary teachers to discuss what really happens to teachers their first year. Her mentor was Saundra Allen. After graduation, Rhoda hopes to teach Social Studies and continue her education towards a master’s degree.

Jessy Chisholm
University of Missouri–St. Louis

Jessy is a junior political science major at UMSL, where she is also pursuing a certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies. She is very interested in the advancement of women, especially in the public arena. During her high school years, she created an organization that raised awareness of women’s issues, while also creating a safe place for abused women. Currently, she attends school full-time while also working 18 hours per week at the Ferguson Library. On campus she is a member of Golden Key Honor Society, Voices, STAT and Model U.N. of which she is the treasurer. She has been instrumental in creating Library programs to excite young children about reading; her current program is creating, organizing and publicizing a story time for young readers. In the future, Jessy hopes to continue working in her community, possibly by running for office and someday working for Women for Women International.

Nuzhat Chowdhury
University of Missouri–Columbia

A native of Columbia, Missouri with a passion for everything political and international, Nuzhat Chowdhury is a junior double majoring in Political Science and Communication and minoring in History. On campus, she realizes her interests and thirst for advocating change by leading such organizations as Pi Sigma Alpha (the political science honors society), Invisible Children, the Muslim Student Organization, and UNICEF Mizzou. A proponent for human rights, she hopes to attend a law school with a strong emphasis in International Law and Human Rights Law after participating in the Americorps program. One day she might even open a pie shop.

Allison Coffelt
Truman State University

Originally from Columbia, MO, Allison Coffelt is a junior at Truman State University. She is double majoring in Political Science and English with a minor in Spanish. She currently works at the Women’s Resource Center, is involved in GlobeMed, Alpha Gamma Delta, the Political Science Student Association, and is a Student Ambassador. She is also in the honors fraternities Pi Sigma Alpha and Sigma Tau Delta and spent last summer studying abroad in Costa Rica. Allison is very interested in non-profit work and the movement toward global health equity. She has done extensive research on the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief and hopes to continue investigating the differences between government and nongovernmental aid processes. After graduation, Allison hopes to pursue a master’s degree in public policy.

Megan Cripps
Southeast Missouri State University

Megan Cripps is a junior at Southeast Missouri State University majoring in Financial Economics with a double minor in Finance and Spanish. She is hoping to attend law school upon graduation from Southeast. Because of her interest in the justice system, she currently serves as the chief justice of the All University Judicial Board and has served on that board for over two years. Megan is also the secretary of the Finance and Economics Club and a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society. Additionally, Megan works on campus as a Senior Student Ambassador, serving as a leader in the Student Ambassador program. She is currently preparing to spend a semester abroad in Spain in order to improve her Spanish. She is originally from the very small town of Benton, IL and enjoys visiting her family at home, boating and fishing at Rend Lake, and being outside in her very limited free time.

Ki’ara Cross
Truman State University

Ki’ara Cross is a junior at Truman State University majoring in Political Science with a concentration in Pre-Law. While at Truman, she has participated in several organizations, including Student Ambassadors, Association of Black Collegians, Coalition of African American Women, Unique Ensemble Gospel Choir, Illusions Danz Team, and has served as the Vice-President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Ki’ara is currently participating in the Missouri Government Internship Program as an intern for Senator President Pro Tem, Charlie Shields. She has always had an interest in becoming a political activist for social change and has excellent public speaking and time management skills. Ki’ara plans to attend law school after graduation and pursue a career in corporate law.

Emily Elam
University of Central Missouri

Emily Elam is a senior at the University of Central Missouri where she has been very involved. Emily is an active member of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority and has served her chapter in the roles of Vice President and Ritual Committee member and has participated in intramurals. She has also served Panhellenic Council as a Gamma Chi (recruitment counselor) and United Student Housing Association (USHA) representative. Emily has been recognized for her contributions to the Greek community at UCM by being inducted as member of Order of Omega, a Greek Honor Society recognizing the top 3% of Greeks on campus; and as a member of Rho Lambda, a Panhellenic Honor Society recognizing the top 10% of Greek women leaders on campus. Emily is also a member of Delta Epsilon Iota, a national Honor Society, and has served as a teacher’s assistant. She has been involved in community service throughout her college career. Emily is preparing to graduate cum laude after only 3 years of college. She is hoping to find employment in the St. Louis area and to eventually attend law school.

Camielle Famous
Missouri State University

Camielle is pursuing a graduate degree in Agency /Secondary Education counseling after obtaining her undergraduate in Psychology with a Spanish minor as a Multicultural Leadership Scholarship recipient. She is positioned as graduate assistant in the Office for Equity and Diversity at Missouri State University where she assists in fostering inclusive excellence through various compliance, educational, and training activities. Camielle also serves as Executive Assistant of the NAACP Springfield Branch and actively participates in the Legal Redress and Women in the NAACP (WIN) committees. As a team leader of the Brentwood Christian Church Anti-Racism Pro-Reconciliation Team, she works to raise awareness of diversity through community events and workshops. She is currently working on her thesis which will address community and higher education microaggressions. Upon graduation, Camielle plans to earn an M. Div/Ph. D in Counseling Psychology with hopes to emerge as a counselor, community leader and diversity consultant.

Elizabeth Fracica
University of Missouri–Columbia

Elizabeth is a sophomore majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Jazz Music (piano and vocal emphasis). She is the President of Health Professionals for Quality Care (HPQC); organized and participated in a medical trip to Lima, Peru; and was selected as a campus representative for International Service Learning. She is the founder and President of the Pediatric Princesses, a group of young women that performs Disney and pop songs for children at the MU Children’s Hospital. Since her freshman year, she has worked in a biology lab and served as a science tutor at the student learning center. After a semester volunteering with a woman with multiple sclerosis, Lizzie was recognized as one of the Omicron Delta Kappa "Top 14 Freshman." On the weekends, she performs in a jazz combo at venues all over Columbia. After graduation, Elizabeth will pursue an MD/MPH degree in hopes of providing people with quality health care on both an individual level and large scale.

Brittany Gholson
Southeast Missouri State University

Brittany Gholson is a sophomore Interdisciplinary Studies major with emphases in the areas of Political Science, Speech Communication, Criminal Justice, and Business. She gives back to her community through the many service projects that her sorority Delta Delta Delta, is involved in and actively participates in the Southeast Dance Marathon, of which she is the President. The Dance Marathon raises money for the Children’s Miracle Network. She is an active participant in the Model United Nations club, International Business Club, and serves as a Presidential Ambassador. Brittany received the Regent’s Scholarship to attend Southeast and is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. In her free time she enjoys creating artwork and working with children. After studying abroad over Christmas break, she discovered a love for traveling and has reaffirmed her commitment to work overseas upon graduation from law school by implementing programs to help at-risk women and children.

Maria Gonzalez
University of Missouri–St. Louis

Maria holds a Master’s in Education with an emphasis in Counseling from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. When working as a counselor for inner-city women and children, she realized that counseling was one of many roles needed in this underserved population. She returned to UMSL to pursue a Ph.D in counseling so she could educate and promote social awareness and change to future mental health professionals in the academic and community setting. Maria has been an instructor and clinical supervisor for UMSL’s Counseling department for the past four years and was once the director for the School and Family Counseling Center. While obtaining her doctorate, she has received scholarships from the Puerto Rican Society and the Hispanic Leaders Group of the Greater St. Louis. Currently she is conducting a study to profile the mental health needs among female inmates to better their current situation and future goals. She is also a member of the American Counseling Association and the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International.

Katherine Granger
Southeast Missouri State University

Katherine Granger is a sophomore Political Science major. She is currently serving on Sigma Sigma Sigma social sorority’s officer team as membership and recruitment director. She is also alumnae relations chair, Founder’s Day chair, and parliamentarian. Katherine is part of the honors program, currently serves as the College Democrat’s vice president, serves on the Greek week steering committee as public relations co-chair, and is currently helping with the election of an Alderman in Miner, Missouri. She hopes that upon graduating she can attend law school or graduate school followed by a career in public service and politics.

Rachel Hassani
Missouri State University

Rachel Hassani was a 2010 graduate from Missouri State University with a B.S. in Communication/PR and a minor in Political Science. She has been actively involved in a number of political campaigns and local politics. Rachel was a member of the College Republican state board, has a personal interest in adoption and enjoys traveling, volunteering, and outdoor activities.

Cassie Hayes
University of Central Missouri

Cassie Hayes is a first year student at the University of Central Missouri where she is studying Middle School Education with a minor in Social Studies. Though she has only been at a UCM for a semester, she is active in activities such as Sigma Kappa Sorority and GAMMA (Greeks Advocating Mature Management of Alcohol). Cassie also likes to give back by participating in mission trips, in which she has been to Louisiana, Minnesota, New York and Ohio. After graduating from UCM, Cassie plans to move to the Kansas City metropolitan area and explore the world of urban education. In her free time, Cassie enjoys watching old movies, traveling, and playing volleyball.

Bethany Henry
University of Missouri–Columbia

Bethany is a sophomore History and Anthropology major at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and plans to pursue a career in public policy. Her Native American heritage has led to a sincere interest in preserving/protecting cultures, and she thrives on educating the public about history and its relevancy today. Raised on a small farm in Southwest Missouri, she is blessed with a large family and loves spending time with her nieces and nephews. She participates in a number of campus activities including church choir, teaching a Children’s Church class, dance classes, reading, and cleaning. After graduation she plans on continuing her education with a master’s degree in Public Administration at the Harry S. Truman School of Public Affairs at the University of Missouri.

Jenny Johnson
Truman State University

Jenny Johnson is a junior at Truman State University. She is majoring in Political Science with a double-minor in International Studies and Arabic. Jenny is fully committed to Alpha Phi Omega (co-ed service fraternity), where she dedicates 25 hours of service to her campus, community, chapter, and country each semester. She also enjoys mentoring students at Ray Miller Elementary and Kirksville Middle School. Jenny is passionate about all issues in public policy, but is particularly interested in national security and defense. She solidified this interest when she studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the summer of 2009, experiencing diverse international public policy issues and challenging academic rigor. In June, Jenny will attend the Arabic Institute in Fez, Morocco and will be volunteering to further women’s empowerment and development. After graduation, she hopes to obtain an L.L.D. in International Law and/or an M.A. in Public Policy.

Amy Kucharo
University of Missouri–Kansas City

Amy is a senior and will her complete her degree in May of 2010. She is graduating with Honors, and will receive a B.A. in both Chemistry and Biology. Amy has been a supplemental Instruction leader for Organic Chemistry for the past two years, leads a Chemistry discussion group and provides private tutoring for various science courses. She is the membership chairperson for the Delta Alpha chapter of Mortar Board National Honor Society and serves as a commissioner on the Kansas City Youth Commission. She has volunteered with numerous organizations including Children’s Mercy Hospital and Harvester’s Food Warehouse. She also has served on a variety of committees within the University, as well as participated in mentoring programs for high school students. After graudation she plans on working in a research lab at UMKC while serving as a KC Youth Commissioner for a second year. She will then pursue Master’s degrees in Public Health and Medical Anthropology, followed by a Doctorate in Cell Biology with an emphasis on anatomy and physiology. She will use this knowledge for academic research and policy creation to eradicate inequalities for healthcare. Amy relaxes by enjoying local events and visiting with friends and family.

Eve Lofthus
University of Missouri–Kansas City

Eve is a graduate of the University of Missouri – Columbia, where she graduated cum laude with a degree in Journalism in May 2009. Feeling unfulfilled she immediately returned to school at the University of Missouri – Kansas City to pursue a degree in Dentistry. At UMKC she founded the organization Smile Academy which works toward closing the health gap present in underserved communities. She serves as the Liaison for the Pre-Dental Society and organizes many community service events through the society. Her other titles include: community service officer for HOPE, assistant work-study for the UMKC School of Dentistry, and dental assistant for John C. Snow DDS. Eve continues to work towards bringing her love of dentistry and social justice together.

Jessica Mattingly
University of Missouri–Kansas City

Jessica Mattingly, M.Ed, IBCLC is a doctoral student in the Interdisciplinary Program with a Coordinating Discipline on Public Affairs and Administration and a Co-Discipline in the Social Science Consortium. She plans to begin her dissertation research during the 2010-2011 academic year and will be focusing on social entrepreneurship as a tool for marginalized populations. Jessica volunteers with a variety of political and non-profit organizations including La Leche League International, Planned Parenthood and the Junior League. She also sits on the board of directors of Friends of Missouri Birth Centers. Jessica is currently employed as an Internationally Board Certified Lactation and parent educator at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs. Prior to her move to the Kansas City area in 1998 she taught students with emotional and behavioral disorders in Wichita, KS. In addition to her community activities, Jessica enjoys homeschooling her five children with her husband James.

Kristen McMillen
University of Missouri–Kansas City

Kristen is a junior pursuing a B.A. in both Mass Communications and German, which she speaks fluently. Seeing the need for further facilitation of International education, Kristen started a group that pairs international students with American students called the Intercultural Student Exchange. On campus she is involved with Model U.N. and the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. This year she has completed over 60 hours of community service. In 2006, when she was just 17 years old, Kristen spent her senior year of high school as a foreign exchange student with the CBYX (Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange); which allows 50 U.S. students to spend a year in Germany partnered with a member of the German Bundestag (Congress). While there she wrote and recorded her own radio segments and placed second in a German Radio Contest. She has interned for Entercom Broadcasting as a Promotions Assistant and Deutsche Welle where she translated and adapted scripts for both radio and the internet. She is currently interning with NBC Action News channel 41, and upon graduation plans to work for an international broadcaster.

Lara Montague
University of Missouri–Columbia

A senior graduating in December 2010, Lara is highly involved with women's organizations on campus and has been academically successful throughout her life. She is the Vice President and co-founder of the American Association of University Women MU, the President of the Women and Gender Studies student Organization, a member of Phi Alpha Delta pre-law Fraternity, a member of the Feminist Student Union, and was on the planning committee for the 2010 Women's Leadership Conference. Lara is planning on attending Law School after graduation with hopes of pursuing a career in Family Law. She has been on the Dean’s list every semester and has also maintained an above-average GPA. In her free time, Lara enjoys swimming, softball, reading, and she loves to spend time with her family in Saint Louis. She is currently working to change curriculum on the MU campus, with many other students and faculty, to include a required diversity course.

Ashley Moore
Missouri State University

Ashley is a junior Nursing major at Missouri State University and is planning on pursing her Ph.D in Public Health. She received her B.A. in International Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2005 before volunteering for two years in South Asia. During this experience she developed a passion for working with underprivileged individuals in the health care field. She spent three months working to fight sex trafficking in India before spending 21 months teaching healthcare in rural Pakistan. Upon returning home, Ashley has become involved in her community by volunteering with Aids Project of the Ozarks, and co-founding Springfield’s International Potluck Organization to aid the international community. She is currently vice-president of MSU’s Student Nurse Organization, and is involved with her local ONE chapter. She intends to pursue a career in international healthcare, while also working to address the healthcare needs among underprivileged women and children in the United States.

Jessica Naugles
Lincoln University

Jessica is a freshman majoring in Psychology. During high school she was involved in the “Friends with a Better Plan” program and volunteered at her mother’s day care center.

Patrica Sampson
Lincoln University

Patrica Sampson is an Associate of Arts graduate and a senior working towards a Bachelor of Science in business administration. Her campus activities include membership in WLA (Women’s Leadership Academy), DEX (Delta Epsilon Chi) and SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise), and she participated in the OFC Venture Challenge Competition held in Atlanta, Georgia. She is currently the secretary of Lincoln University’s SIFE organization and a selected member of the SIFE’s presentation team that will compete in Chicago, Illinois. Her WLA mentor is Mrs. Mary Simmons, and her 2010 WLA presentation topic was “Battlefield of the Mind.” After graduation, she plans on continuing her education in the field of management in hopes of eventually owning her own business.

Amanda Sasek
University of Central Missouri

Amanda Sasek is a sophomore Political Science and Corporate Communications major. While at the University of Central Missouri, Amanda has been active in multiple student organizations and volunteer programs. She currently serves as President of Students for Political Action, a bipartisan group promoting awareness and active involvement of UCM students in various political opportunities. She is also Vice President of College Democrats, Scholarship Chair of Alpha Sigma Alpha social sorority, and a representative for the Political Science Department on the Student Advisory Council. She currently is an off-campus volunteer at the Missouri Veteran’s Home and for the Special Olympics. After graduating from UCM, Amanda plans to work toward an M.A. in Political Science to pursue a career working for the government and political campaigns. In her free time, Amanda enjoys reading, writing lyrics and poetry, singing, and playing tennis.

Erica Shannon
Missouri S & T

Erica Shannon will be a junior at Missouri S&T majoring in Biological Sciences with minors in Chemistry and Psychology of Leadership. As President of her Hall Government Association, Erica has organized and presented many educational and social programs throughout the past year. She has played a major role in leadership development for the newer members of the association. As Public Relations Chair for the International Genetically Engineered Machines (iGEM) Club, Erica has put together many fundraisers and raised awareness of the club’s goals throughout the campus community. Last October Erica attended the iGEM Jamboree, a synthetic biology research conference held at the MIT campus where she helped present research on bio fuel cells. Erica would like to pursue post graduate studies in either Law or Business to better prepare herself for a career in the business side of biology.

Brittany Stegeman
Lincoln University

Brittany Stegeman is a junior, political science major at Lincoln University. As a 2009 transfer to the university, she has maintained Dean's List Standing, membership in Alpha Kappa Mu honor society, and she is a founding member and current Vice President of Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science fraternity. She is involved in campus organizations such as D.I.V.A.S., Supplementary Instructor tutoring services for political science, a L.E.A.P. mentor for freshman students as well as community involvement with charities such as Missouri Special Olympics and Halo Foundation. Her future honors include the attendance as well as speaking at the American Democracy Project conference in June in Rhode Island. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in December 2010, she plans to complete her Master’s and Doctorate in political science with the hopes of one day teaching at the collegiate level.

Lauren Terry
Missouri State University

Lauren Terry is a junior Socio-Political Communication major at Missouri State University, and is preparing for law school. During her time at Missouri State, Lauren has been very active, including serving four semesters on the leadership board of her sorority Gamma Alpha Lambda, being a SOAR leader, assisting a student campaign on campus as their communication director, working as the Royalty Chair on Homecoming Committee, and participating as a member of the 2009 Homecoming Royalty Court. In addition to her involvement on campus Lauren has worked the past three years at Lighthouse Child and Family Development center with children from low income and at-risk families. She has also participated in an internship with Travis Hankins for Congress and worked with Tom Schweich for State Auditor. Lauren hopes that her undergraduate and professional studies will prepare her for a career in child advocacy. In her spare time Lauren enjoys reading, music, running, coffee, and traveling.

Alexandra Tran
University of Missouri–St. Louis

Alex is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in economics, with minors in Business Administration and Statistics, at UM-St. Louis. She is a member of the Honors College and has earned placement on the Dean’s list the past three semesters. She is strongly committed to civic involvement, helping citizens register to vote and serving as an election judge. Local economic knowledge and development is a passion of hers as well – Alex volunteers her time preparing fee tax returns for low income taxpayers and editing resumes for new immigrants. After graduation, she hopes to join the Peace Corps and eventually work in domestic public policy, particularly consumer protection and advocacy.

Ruth Turner
Lincoln University

Ruth Turner is a senior majoring in Environmental Science. She also works as a mathematics tutor both on and off campus and is researching the sustainability of algae as a fuel source. During her time at Lincoln, she has served on the Campus Activity Board, been the secretary for both the Math Club and Community Connections of Lincoln University - the commuter student organization - as well as a member of many other organizations. She is also a Lifetime member of the Girl Scouts and a member of FRANK, an organization for young professionals involved in the arts. After graduation, she plans to get a Master's degree in Environmental Management. In her free time, she likes to play violin, sew, read, make jewelry, and watch films.

Rachel Watson
University of Missouri–St. Louis

Rachel is a sophomore, majoring in Sociology with a minor in Economics. Her interests lie in studying Urban Environments – particularly urban schools – and the implications that public policy has on the continued survival of American cities. She is learning both French and Russian, looks forward to studying abroad in South Africa and after graduation plans on earning a master’s in Urban Education or Social Policy and attending law school. Rachel is very involved and has tutored primary school kids through the Way With Words & Numbers program, is a member of the Associated Students of Missouri, has been on the Dean’s List for the past four semesters and is the current intern at the Sue Shear Institute in St. Louis. This summer she has accepted a position as a Teacher-Intern in Miami with Breakthrough Collaborative, an organization that takes low-income, highly motivated urban youth and provides them with intense academic enrichment over the summer.

Ali Weinel
University of Central Missouri

Ali Weinel is a sophomore Political Science major at the University of Central Missouri. Currently, she is a Legislative Intern for Representative Rachel Storch. In addition to her internship at the Capitol, Ali is also a campaign intern to Courtney Cole who is running for the Missouri State House out of the 121st district. Ali is also the President of the UCM College Democrats as well as Vice President for Students for Political Action and an active member of her sorority, Alpha Phi. After graduating, Ali plans to run for office and work within local and state government to create change. Between classes, campus activities and her job on campus, Ali does not find time for much else, but enjoys reading, listening to music and watching movies with her friends.

Amy Williams
University of Missouri–Columbia

Amy Williams is a law student at the University of Missouri. She currently serves as president of the board of directors for Global Issues Leadership Development (GILD), a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to teaching high school students about global human rights. Amy also volunteers at Boone County's Women's Shelter assisting women in crisis with filing emergency orders of protection. She is interested in the way the legal system treats survivors of sexual violence. Upon graduation, Amy hopes to work in the nonprofit sector addressing violence public policy concerns.
