Sue Shear Institute for Women in Public Life
Pipeline to Public Office
What is the Pipeline?
The Sue Shear Institute's pipeline programs are a non-partisan effort designed to help individuals enter the political arena and hone career and management skills by working on grassroots issues and political campaigns.
Styled as a campaign bootcamp, Pipeline to Public Office is a two day workshop that prepares participants for the 2014 campaign election cycle and offers advice on enhancing organization and communication skills. Faculty members include Democratic and Republican women who have held elective office and managed successful political issue and candidate campaigns.
Who Should Attend? You Should If:
- You want to make a difference in your community by participating in issue and candidate campaigns.
- You are interested in running for your local school board, city council, state legislature, or other political office.
- You want to "get involved" but aren't sure how. Come find out how working in a campaign can improve work and management skills, introduce you to interesting people, and improve the quality of life in your community.
How Much Does the workshop cost?
This special two-day training costs only $125 and includes all course materials as well as a reception on Friday and continental breakfast and lunch on Saturday.
