Books
The UMSL Bookstore & Computer Shop is located in MSC and is the campus headquarters for buying and selling textbooks for courses taught at UM-St. Louis. The Bookstore also offers a complete selection of popular hardcover and paperback books and study aids for all subjects. Special orders are accepted for most publishers.
Methods Of Payment
Textbooks and other materials may be purchased through the Bookstore by cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, or Discover credit cards, or student charge - your student ID is required.
Textbook Return Policy
All returns require a receipt, original packaging, and price stickers intact. Textbooks may be returned one week after the first day of class (3 days for summer sessions), provided that you have not written in the book. Refunds are given in the same method you made the purchase. Refunds by check will be mailed from the Cashier's Office.
Textbook Buyback
Textbook Buyback is always during the week of finals, for exact dates check our website. If the Bookstore has an order for the next semester and that particular text will be used again next semester, the Bookstore will buy the book back at half the new price, regardless of whether you purchased it new or used.
If the text will not be used next semester, a wholesale book company will purchase current editions at 10% - 40% of the new price based on national demand.
Additional Services
The bookstore offers many services to students, faculty and staff: UPS shipping, USPS 1st class postage stamps, incoming and outgoing faxing and free notary services. If you have any questions, please stop by the customer service counter and a representative will assist you in any way we can.
