The Current is a student-run newspaper that reports on University
news and issues. The Current provides excellent experience
for students who are interested in working in print media.
The only requirements for working on the paper are being a
UM-St. Louis student and having initiative. Senior staff positions
are paid; and new reporters are always welcome.

90.7 KWMU-FM, St. Louis's only National Public Radio affiliate,
broadcasts in-depth news and intelligent talk through nationally
and locally produced programs such as Morning Edition, All
Things Considered, and St. Louis On The Air. Students may
work in all areas of the radio station operation through practicum
or internship program.

The Center brings the performing arts to the University of Missouri-St. Louis and to
audiences from the St. Louis area and across the Midwest. Students will have
incredible opportunities to train and display their talents in a world-class
performance hall while serving as a cultural classroom for the community.

The Monday Noon Cultural Series, offered by the Center for
the Humanities, consists of twelve to thirteen Monday programs
each semester held from 12:15-1:15 p.m. The Series presents a diverse array of talent
and expertise, with speakers from a wide range of ethnic,
racial, and cultural backgrounds. Subjects range from art
and music to politics and social conditions. The series showcases
the excellence of our faculty and local experts. All are free
and open to the public.

Premiere Performances, now in its 21st, is a
presenter of world-class chamber music. From October 2006
through April 2007, Premiere Performances will present a series
of concerts at the Sheldon Concert Hall, the Ethical Society
on Clayton Road, and the Touhill Performing Arts Center.

There are more than 140 student clubs and organizations
at UM-St. Louis. In addition to serving all campus-recognized
clubs and organizations, the Student Life & Development sponsors
a variety of activities and programs which enable students
to interact and connect with other members of the campus community.
University Program Board

The University Program Board is a student board which sponsors
many of the programs and activities open to the University
of Missouri - St. Louis community. Students volunteer their
time and effort to design and implement a variety of educational, cultural
and social activities for the campus community, including
contemporary and cultural concert presentations, theater,
dance, lectures, and comedy/variety shows. Programming is
subsidized by student activities fees.
There are numerous committees on which students can serve.
Students who want to explore the opportunities for participation
on the University Program Board or who want information regarding
any of the programs offered by the Board should call or stop
by.
