Cycling Club Constitution
1. Article I UMSL Cycling Club
a. This organization shall be known as the University of Missouri,
Saint Louis Cycling Club.
b. This organization will abide by cycling rules and regulations as
determined by the State of Missouri, NORBA, NCCA and IMBA.
2. Article II Purpose
a. The UMSL Cycling Club is a means for cyclists of all backgrounds
and interests to enhance and plan activities, trips and competitions,
as well as being a forum to voice cycling concerns to the University
System.
b. The UMSL Cycling Club goals:
i. Allow cyclist attending UMSL to learn from each other's cycling
experiences, techniques and knowledge.
ii. Support the full breath of cycling activities.
iii. Provide a means for UMSL Cycling Club member to compete in
NCCA and NORBA events.
iv. Provide a periodic newsletter.
v. Opportunity to meet people with cycling interests to include,
but not limited to:
1. Road
2. Mountain Biking
3. Racing
4. Commuting
5. Recumbent
6. Touring
vi. Voice cycling related concerns to the University System.
3. Article III Membership Requirements and Limitations
a. The only requirement for being a member of the UMSL Cycling Club
is an enthusiasm for bicycling.
b. Good sportsmanship values are required to maintain membership.
4. Article IV Officers
a. President
b. VP/SGA Representative
c. VP/Racing & Competition
d. Treasurer
e. VP Web Master
5. Article V Meetings/Correspondence
a. Meetings
i. Meetings will be held as necessary.
ii. Any member may call a meeting.
iii. Four members shall constitute a quorum.
iv. Email and Website forums will provide the majority of communication.
b. Newsletters
i. A newsletter will be disseminated as necessary.
c. Electronic Mail
i. Email will be utilized to inform members of opportunities for
group rides, competitions, races and cycling events.
ii. Email and Website will provide a means to disseminate information.
6. Article VI Advisor
a. Requirement/Selection Procedure
i. Any person that is an UMSL professor or staff member.
ii. Any person with a genuine interest in bicycling.
b. The term shall be for one year with a review.
7. Article VII Ratification and Amendments
a. By reading and agreeing to this document the member adopts it as
a governing source.
b. Any member may make a motion to amend this constitution.
i. A 2/3 vote by members that are present is required to pass any
amendment.
