This is a Full Time position for a Post Doctoral Fellow to provide direct service and clinical supervision in a nationally accredited Child Advocacy Center. The successful candidate will serve children, adolescents and families in a multidisciplinary setting that treats childhood victims of trauma (e.g. sexual abuse, physical abuse, witness to domestic violence or other violent crime) and provide supervision of psychotherapy conducted by Psychological Trainees, Practicum Students and Interns in the center's training programs for Clinical Psychology, Social Work and Counseling students at area universities.

Completion of all the requirements for the Ph. D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and possession of a license eligible in the State of Missouri are required for applying for such a position.

Required skills and abilities include possessing experience and formal coursework in assessment, diagnosis and psychotherapy with children, adolescents and families. Knowledge of and/or experience in working with issues, features and treatments related to the field of Child Maltreatment including such evidenced based practices as: Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Integrated Treatment for Complex Trauma and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. Experience/ interest in providing trauma informed clinical supervision to advanced graduate students and interns in the fields of Psychology, Social Work and Counseling.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  1. Provide initial trauma informed assessments of treatment needs for children, adolescents and families.
  2. Provide individual , group and/or family psychotherapy for victims of childhood trauma. Complete charting and other documentation responsibilities in a timely fashion.
  3. Provide supervision of psychotherapy conducted by employees, graduate students, interns, post-doctoral residents and practicum students.
  4. Conduct educational presentations in the community on trauma related issues.
  5. Meet all CAC Quality Assurance Standards.
  6. Provide back-up support for emergencies at CAC.
  7. Serve as an on-call clinician in a rotating emergency service.
  8. Assist with the development of new business via clinic development activities in the community .
  9. Complete tasks at the request of the Executive Director to ensure smooth clinical operations.
  10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Executive Director.

Administrative supervision is received from the Executive Director of the Children's Advocacy Services of Greater St. Louis or her licensed psychologist designee. Supervision will be administered for the psychotherapy provided by psychological trainees, interns, social work and counseling practicum students and other assigned clinicians.

The performance standards for the Post Doctoral Fellow are to provide a minimum of 20 hours of billable professional services per week commensurate with other roles and responsibilities. Fellow must be available to see clients at least two evenings a week until 8:00 and/or on Saturday. Outpatient documentation and quality assurance standards have been established and compliance with these is expected. All clinical services are expected to be delivered at the highest level of competency by the psychologist, consistent with his/her training, experience and credentials. Clinical services must meet ethical standards for the profession.
