High School Student Volunteer Orientation

The Volunteer Orientation is a brief program conducted on a predetermined date once per month. This training is mandatory for all high school aged volunteers to attend prior to beginning any UM-St. Louis volunteer assignment.

Orientation topics include:

  • Overview of the history of the University of Missouri system and its organizational structure.
  • The Mission of the UM-St. Louis Volunteer Services Department
  • Volunteer Training and Supervision
  • Volunteer benefits, awards and services
  • Volunteer Timesheet Completion
  • Worker’s Compensation
  • Volunteer Position Descriptions
  • Open discussion/questions addressed

Please register for orientation at least 3 days before the scheduled date. If no one has pre-registered for an orientation, it may be rescheduled.

If you are unable to attend a scheduled orientation, please contact the office to make other arrangements.
