Meet the Staff

Volunteer Services is a division of UMSL Human Resources. The program staff is comprised of a dynamic duo collaborating to meet the organizational needs of the University, as well as engage community members in the rewarding experience of volunteering at UMSL.

Elizabeth joined the UMSL staff in October 2004, and is responsible for establishing the Volunteer Services program on campus. Thus far, it remains the only program of its kind in the UM System..

Elizabeth oversees the recruitment, selection, training and placement of volunteers on campus, as well as organizes special events in which to celebrate their service contributions. She also acts as liaison for the University with area non-profit organizations. 

Prior to joining the UMSL staff, Elizabeth served as the Assistant Director of Membership Services for the Girl Scout Council of Greater St. Louis. Elizabeth received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri- Columbia and has completed post-graduate work towards a M.Ed. degree in Counseling from UM- St. Louis. Elizabeth is also a graduate of the CORO- Women in Leadership program and a proud alum of the UM Administrative Leadership Development Program (ALDP). In 2009, the Metropolitan Volunteer Management Association honored Elizabeth with the Volunteer Director of the Year award.

Nancy joined the Volunteer Services staff in October of 2010. She assists with the daily operations and office support of the program.  Nancy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from UMSL and has extensive office experience in the advertising and printing industry. She is also passionate about volunteering.  She has served on the Sponsorship Committee for the Susan G. Komen Race for  the Cure and a volunteer for ShowMe Aquatics and Fitness. She is currently a Girl Scout leader and is active in the Mother’s Club and on the Auction Committee at her children’s school.
