DETAILS
"Transitions and Connections" is a work written and performed by homeless men, who are telling their collective stories. These narratives have been culled from 10 years of a writing project conceived by writer and poet Janey Iber. The storytelling is performed among the audience, not on a stage. The performers will personify exposure to wind, rain, cold, heat and other psychological and physical tolls experienced by being homeless.

"Transitions and Connections" is the third of a four-part Peter & Paul Community Services series taking place in conjunction with the current Gallery 210 exhibit "Urgent Shelter." The exhibit includes structures designed for people who are homeless or have been displaced by war or natural disaster. The featured artists and designers are Global Village, Electroland, Michael Rakowitz and Mad Housers.

"Urgent Shelter" is on display now through May 31 in Gallery 210 at UMSL.
