University Orchestra will perform "The Soul of Ra" by Barbara Harbach, professor of music at UMSL. The concert also will include performances of music by Johann Sebastian Bach, George Frederick Handel, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Oscar Hammerstein, Dave Brubeck, Billie Holiday and Robert Ray, professor of music at UMSL.
Jim Richards, chair of the Department of Music at UMSL, conducts University Orchestra, which is open to all UMSL students with orchestral performing experience. The group performs several concerts each year.
Ray directs the University Community Chorus, which features about 100 members, including UMSL students and members of the community.
Vocal Point is a select UMSL ensemble of 20 a capella singers. They perform a variety of vocal styles. Jim Henry, associate professor of music at UMSL, conducts the ensemble.
