DETAILS
Soprano Stella Markou will present her St. Louis solo debut. She will perform music by George F. Handel, Gustav Mahler, Claude Debussy, Barbara Harbach, Joaquin Turina and Gian Carlo Menotti. Alla Voskoboynikova, coordinator of piano studies at UMSL, will accompany Markou on piano and Paul Hecht will accompany her on trumpet.
Markou has appeared as a featured soloist at festivals throughout the United States and Europe, including the Dance New Amsterdam Concert Series in New York, Heidelberg New Music Festival in Tiffin, Ohio, and the SEAMUS Festival in San Diego.
She has performed roles from "Die Zauberflöte," "The Turn of the Screw," "The Mikado," "The Telephone" and "La Canterina."
