Harris Receives Lee Medal
Alumni, friends, faculty, students and staff of the University of Missouri-St. Louis rose to their feet Sept. 25 as noted St. Louis philanthropist and attorney Whitney R. Harris took the stage in the main ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton in Clayton, Mo.
The capacity crowd, on hand for the university's 16th annual Founders Dinner, applauded as UM-St. Louis Chancellor Thomas George presented Harris with the E. Desmond and Mary Ann Lee Medal for Philanthropy in appreciation for Harris' continued interest in conservation and ecology and generous contributions to the university.
Last year, the university named its international ecology center the "Whitney R. Harris World Ecology Center."
The Founders Dinner recognizes outstanding UM-St. Louis friends, alumni, faculty and staff.
