Melissa Hattman, Director of Transfer Services and Articulation

Ms. Hattman joined the University in April 1996 as a transfer coordinator before working her way up to associate director of admissions in 1998. In fall 2001, she assumed the position of acting director of admissions and was appointed Director of Admissions in January 2003.

After serving as director until fall 2005, she moved into her current position as Director of Transfer Services and Articulation. Leading the new Office of Transfer Services is a “career opportunity comes true”.

Ms. Hattman has been very active in professional organizations, serving on and chairing many regional and state conference planning committees.She was elected to serve on the St. Louis Community College Board of Trustees in 2008. She has presented at national conferences numerous times on topics relating to the success of transfer students. She is also a graduate of the UM President’s Academic Leadership Institute, spring 2006. Ms. Hattman holds a master’s degree in Higher Education from the University of Missouri –St. Louis. She completed her undergraduated bachelor’s degree in english and history with a Texas lifetime teaching certificate from Lamar University.

In her spare time, she loves to travel in the Caribbean islands and is a
self- proclaimed amateur photographer.
