Remote Access to UM-St. Louis Library Databases

A valid UM - St. Louis student Gateway ID and password are required to search UM-St. Louis Databases from off campus locations.

Database Remote Access from the UM-St. Louis Libraries homepage

1. Locate Databases in the left-hand list on the Library homepage.
2. Click on either:
  • Sorted Alphabetically
  • Sorted by Subject - Click on the desired subject area ( Health Sciences) to view a list of database choices.
3. Click on Search this Database or the desired database (i.e., Medline, 1950-Present). On the next page click on the Search link. (i.e. Search Medline 1996-)
4. Enter your Gateway ID and password.

Database Remote Access through MyGateway

  • If you are already logged into MyGateway click on the Library tab then click on http://www.umsl.edu/library/
  • Follow Steps 1-4 above.
    You may be asked to enter your Gateway ID and password again.

Medline (from OVID)   Premier source for bibliographic and abstract coverage of the biomedical literature.

PubMed-   Free access to Medline from the National Library of Medicine.
Dissertation Abstracts 1861-   More than 1.2 million ciations (with abstracts since 1980) to doctoral degree dissertations.
Web of Science 1995-   Web Of Science is comprised of the following segments: Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index: Copyright Institute for Scientific Information 2000.
