Accessing Full Text Journal Articles While Searching in a Database-

Many but not all journal articles can be accessed full text online while searching in a database.

Record the location ( BARNES or TJ Library) and the call number (LB1573 .R28) to locate the journal on the shelf in the Ward E. Barnes or Thomas Jefferson Library.   1. Locate Databases in the left hand list on any UM St. Louis Library web page.


  2. Enter the journal title in the box to the right of Title begins with or click on an alphabet letter to browse by journal title.
Locate Journal Titles provides:
  • A date range for each database containing full text of the journal. Click on the database name (ie. Education Full Text) for a direct link into the database.

  • Once you have linked to the database, search procedures may vary. Generally, seek the year, volume, and issue number for your citation.

  • UMSL Libraries' Print Journals - for journals not available full text but available in print in one of the UM St. Louis Libraries.
