• Your Gateway ID and password are required to search any of the Electronic Databases from off campus locations.
• If you do not know your Gateway ID and password, click on GatewayID Search and then click on dial-up instructions.

Remote Access to the Library Electronic Databases from the UM-St. Louis Library homepage

• Step 1: Locate Electronic Databases in the blue left-hand list on the Library homepage.
• Step 2: Click on either:
  • Alphabetical Listing of Databases
  • Subject Listing of Databases - Click on the desired subject area (i.e., Education/Counseling, Health Sciences, etc.) to view a list of database choices.

• Step 3: Click on the desired database (i.e., CINAHL, ERIC, Medline, Journals@Ovid, etc.)

• Step 4: Look for the "Connect To: Database Name, year-"
  ex. Connect to: Medline, 1966-
  Click on the hypertext link and begin your search.
  You may be asked to enter your Gateway ID and password.

Remote Access to the Library Electronic Databases from MyGateway

• If you are already logged into MyGateway click on “The Library” tab located in the red strip at the top of the MyGateway welcome page.

• Look for the Electronic Databases heading to find journal article citations. (Located in the middle column.)
  

• Follow Steps 2-4 above.
  You may be asked to enter your Gateway ID and password again.
