Costs that you need to take into consideration:
- Cable, Telephone, and Internet... Without bundling, most basic cable TV package is $44.99 for the first 6 months. This does not account for set up fees or rental of the cable related items. For a land line telephone, it costs approximately $29.99 for the first 6 months. Since most students have a mobile cell phone, they do not opt to buy additional telephone services. Finally, the most basic internet package is $19.99 for the first 6 months. This does not account for set up fees or rental of the internet related items. If you do choose to bundle, it will save you money.
- Parking and gas costs... To park a vehicle on campus is $18 per credit hour. So depending on the number of credit hours you have in a semester, it could cost anywhere from $54 (for 3 credit hours) to $270 (for 15 credit hours). Then you also have to figure in gas costs... And that just depends on how often you drive.
- Dining Budget... For normal groceries and dining out, let's say it costs $5, $10, and $15 for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (respectively) if the student eats out for every meal. $30/day x 30 days in a month is $900 for food. Given that number, a reasonable food budget is probably around $600 since students won't eat out every day/night.
Oak Hall (23 years of age and younger)
- 12 month contract for Oak is $8,546. If you divide that by 12 months, monthly rate is $712.17.
- Minimum required meal plan is $978 per semester x 2 semester is $1,956 for the academic year. $1,956/12 is $163. No meal plan is required during the summer months.

Divide that by 12 months is $40 for both the telephone line and internet port. Please note that free wireless access is available in Oak and most students have good cell phone signal thus they opt not to have the telephone and internet services.
- For normal groceries and dining out, let's say it costs $10 to dine out, since the minimum meal plan only covers 7 meals per week, the other 7 meals, students could dine out (or they could eat in). If it's $10 to eat out x 7 meals x 4 weeks then it's $280. Given that number, a reasonable budget is probably around $250 since students won't eat out every day/night.
