Wellness Programs / Classes

There are so Many Classes to Choose From

We strive to offer a diversity of fitness programs that encourage the University community to become more physically active regardless of ability or fitness level. Below is a description of classes. Some classes may alternate each semester and new classes are always being cooked up. Please check back frequently for new classes, and as always let us know if there's a class you'd like us to offer!

ABC: Abs, Buns & Cardio. Isolate & tone the major muscle groups of the lower body in combo with cardiovascular conditioning on the track.

Body Challenge: Body shaping and redefining using exertubes, weights, bands, step and your own body's resistance. Focus on core and stretch at the end.

Body Power : High energy cardio with weights & bands for a total body workout.

Boot Camp : Athletic movements and basic calisthenics with focus on strength, agility, speed and balance.

Boxrobix: Cardio workout using kicking and punching moves, a great cardio workout.

Cardio Combo: Cardio workout using weight training and step to tone & sculpt w/o building bulk.

Cardio Resist-A-Ball: A series of cardio floor movements with core resist-a-ball training.

Fitness Center 101 : Not sure how to use the Fitness Center strength and cardio equipment safely and effectively? Start here!.

Interval Training : consisting of a total body workout by combining weights/resistance tubing
performed between cardio segments. 

Hip Hop : The latest dance moves will really give you a fun workout!.

Nia: Neuromuscular Integrated action. Combines dance, yoga, martial arts & FUN!

Pilates: Core strength training and stretching based on the work of Joseph Pilates- great for abs and back!

Piloga: Amaze yourself with the Pilates and yoga based work-out. Stretch your body and mind to enjoy great health benefits.

Power Flex : Ultimate muscle challenge that tones, strengthens & defines entire body using weights, balls & step..

Power Pump: Body toning class with emphasis on increasing muscular strength through the use of free weights, xertubes & steps for added resistance. Great way to pump up your spirits!

Powersport: Mixes high energy cardio segments with weights and bands for a total body workout.

PYT Step : An unusual cardiovascular workout that incorportates a blend of mind-body disciplines including Pilates, Yoga, and Tai Chi on the step.

Silver Moves: Well balanced program to improve mobilty muscular strength, endurance, flexibility & cardiovascular fitness.

Spin: Beginner to advanced. Stationary bicycle with a personal motivator. Spin at your own pace! Great cardiovascular workout at just the right pace.

Spin w/Core Strength: Spin class followed by 30 min. focus on core stability strength and functional balance. Floor, mat and exercise/balance ball are all employed. Take your training to the next level and maximize your functional strength.

Spin Multi-Sport: 90-min class oriented at training for triathlons, duathlons, and adventure endurance type races. Using Spinning as a primary base, swimming and running are also employed. Swimming skills, drills and swim-bike transition practice. Running "bricks" and bike-run transition employed. Culminates with mini-indoor triathlon. Training plans, methods and tips discussed. Designed to have you ready for spring events.

Step Jam: Love dancing on the step? This class is for you! So much fun, you won't even realize how hard you're working.

Step & Muscle: Step workout focusing on cardio fitness and total body toning.

Strength & Sculpt: Great step workout with weight training & high-intensity intervals to burn calories & build strength.

Stretch & Tone : Firm every part of your body while increasing core strength and flexibility.

Trim & Tone: Firm every part of your body with increasing flexibility and strength.

Total Body Toning: Body shaping and redefining using xertubes, weights, bands, step and your body's own resistance. Focus on core and stretch at the end.

W.E.T.: Low impact water exercise for fitness weight loss and body defining. Shallow end aerobics, deep end jogging.

Weight Training : Workouts that focus on use of free weights and exercise machines. Tone your body, build strength, and increase stamina.

Yoga: Experience the mind/body connection as you improve your strength, balance & flexibility. Restore yourself!
