MIDAS: Home

The Metropolitan Information and Data Analysis Services (MIDAS) is one of three operational units of the Public Policy Research Center at the University of Missouri - St. Louis.

MIDAS provides the following services:

  • Multi-method research design
  • Survey research and analysis
  • Demographic data collection and analysis
  • Database design, implementation and administration
  • GIS services

MIDAS is funded largely by contracts with local organizations, which is consistent with our primary mission to become a regional resource for data and information relating to public policy issues.

The primary objectives of MIDAS are:

  • Providing information and data analysis services for regional public policy analysis.
  • Servicing the needs of faculty and students working with quantitative data sources. In collaboration with a representative group of UM-St. Louis researchers and the Campus Computing Center, MIDAS develops lists of data sources, assists with ACCESS issues, and provides expertise on quantitative methodologies.
  • Working with and for local governmental organizations, non-governmental agencies, and the private sector on issues relating to the acquisition, management and analysis of quantitative data. » More
  • Providing support to PPRC's applied research and community/neighborhood development projects.
