The Library Catalog is available to all through the World Wide Web. Only current UM-St. Louis Students, Faculty, and Staff are eligible to access the remote databases, which index the periodical literature in Business, Education, the Humanities, News, Public Affairs, Science and Technology (including the Life and Health Sciences), and the Social Sciences. 1 UM-St. Louis Students, Faculty and Staff with broadband internet access (cable or DSL) may use the Cisco VPN Client to access Library Databases from home. To download the software go to: http://www.umsl.edu/technology/tsc/umslvpn/vpninstructions.htm. You will need your Gateway (SSO) ID to download and use the Cisco VPN Client. To look up your ID go to http://gatewayid.umsl.edu. After you have connected using the Cisco VPN Client, you may access the Library Catalog and the remote online resources via the UM-St. Louis Libraries' home page by going to: 2 UM-St. Louis Students, Faculty, and Staff using a non-UMSL Internet Service Provider (ISP) may access the remote online resources via our proxy server using their Gateway ID and password. For information about Gateway IDs and passwords go to http://gatewayid.umsl.edu. Type in your Gateway ID and password when requested. 3 To access only Ovid databases, users need to have a Social Security Number and a MERLIN PIN number.
