Library Instruction Session Request Form
UM-St. Louis faculty may request library instruction sessions for their classes. The instruction sessions usually provide a general overview to library
services followed by detailed information that is relevant to the needs of a particular class. Normally the sessions demonstrate how to find articles, books, and other information sources using library databases, indexes, the online catalog and whatever else is felt to
be important.
Instructors should feel free to consult with librarians about the topics and
resources that
they would like covered in a particular session.

If faculty need presentations for classes taught on South
Campus (especially those in the fields of Education, Nursing or Optometry) please go to the Ward E. Barnes Library Instruction page for more information or to arrange a session there.
For most classes taught on North Campus
please fill out and submit the following form. Be sure to provide as much of the requested information as possible.
You can also contact Chris Niemeyer
(e-mail: niemeyer@umsl.edu or telephone: 516-7008) to request a session.
It is preferable that sessions take place in Room 315 of the Thomas Jefferson Library so that students may come into
the building and see the library and its facilities up-close. However, sessions may also be conducted in
classrooms.
Please submit your requests as early as possible to allow us to schedule your sessions at the time most convenient for you and to give the librarian
ample time to prepare. Thank you!
