The Archives of the University
of Missouri-St. Louis began collecting the documents and records of the
St. Louis campus in 1969. From 1969-1977 the Archivist reported to the
Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs. In 1977, the Archives was placed
under the direction of the University Archivist in Central Administration.
In 1991, University Archives was decentralized and placed under the Director
of Libraries on the St. Louis campus.

| Bellerive Country Club clubhouse, known as the Administration Building, served as administrative, classroom, and library space until Benton Hall was completed in 1966. The Administration Building was torn down in 1978. The area is now known as Founder's Circle and includes the green space in front of Thomas Jefferson Library. | ||||
