The primary mission of the UM-St. Louis Libraries’ Access Services Department is to meet the educational and research needs of our faculty, staff, students, and other patrons by providing ease of access to the Libraries’ facilities, materials, and resources. We accomplish this through effective circulation and reserves policies and procedures, membership in local, state, and nation-wide library consortiums, professional document delivery services, and resourceful book stacks’ management.

We, the staff members of the Access Services Department, strive to meet this mission by collaborating internally with other library and university units and with external partners to develop patron centered services characterized by efficient, effective, and courteous service. We are continuously seeking innovative ideas and technologies to meet the diverse and changing needs of our patrons. We maintain a safe, clean facility that offers convenient access to the information within and beyond our walls.
