Overview

MOBIUS is a consortium of academic libraries with colleges and universities in the state of Missouri. Its purpose is to make available library materials and information in an accessible, cost effective and with quick delivery using the power of the Internet and technology.

The largest single project for MOBIUS is the Common Library Platform project. The Common Library Platform creates a virtual collection of the approximately 18 million items in the libraries of Missouri’s colleges and universities and creates a single user interface that allows students, faculty and staff to request materials using any personal computer with access to the Internet.

The colleges and universities that participate in MOBIUS are separated into clusters. The University of Missouri-St. Louis is part of the Merlin cluster. The other universities in Merlin are the University of Missouri-Columbia, the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Rolla), the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
