The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Office borrows materials from and lends materials to other libraries. ILL handles all requests for copies of articles and book chapters, as well as requests for books not available at the UM-St. Louis Libraries or through the MERLIN/MOBIUS consortiums. We borrow most materials from libraries in the United States and many other countries.

All UM-St. Louis current faculty, staff, and students are welcome to use ILL services. We ask that patrons check in-house resources (including MERLIN/MOBIUS, electronic subscriptions and databases) before requesting materials via ILL. We also ask patrons to limit their requests to ten or fewer per week so we can process all requests in a timely manner.

Requests can most easily be made online by using the Libraries' web page. Forms for handwritten requests are also available.
