In December of 2001, students from a local high school visited the lab for an introduction to the world of Plant Systematics. The visiting seniors and juniors extracted DNA from various plants and listened to short presentations about research being conducted by individuals in the laboratory. On the right, Jan Barber shows the students how DNA is precipitated from an extraction.
