WITH YOUR APPLICATION
Application Process Overview
To properly complete the entire application, you will complete these three (3) steps:
- Work Experience
- Education History
- References
- Applicant Questionnaire
If you apply for more than one position at once, the Applicant Questionnaire may be different for each application and your application may be screened out. Therefore, we recommend you apply for one position at a time. After submitting your first application, simply:
- Select a new job
- Make any changes you would like to make on your application, if any
- Click the "SAVE & CONT" button
- Answer the Application Questionnaire
- Click the "APPLY NOW" button
|
To be considered for any UM-St. Louis position, you must:
- List at least your last four (4) employers as well as other employment which demonstrate your qualifications for the position for which you are applying.
- List jobs in sequence, starting with the most recent.
-
You may include military service or significant volunteer/internship activities.
- Provide Education details for all Education levels.
- List all education beginning with High School and then all Post-Secondary, as appropriate. Place a check mark to show whether you graduated.
- List at least three (3) references.
-
These must be different from those listed in your work history.
- Respond to ALL yes/no questions in the Applicant Questionnaire section.
* Attaching a resume is NOT a substitute for completing
these sections of the application. Any application that does not have these sections completed
in full will be considered INCOMPLETE.
VERY IMPORTANT TIPS
- After you complete any section or page of the application, click on the "SAVE AND RETURN" button and then click the “SAVE & CONT ” button at the bottom of the application before adding additional information. This very important step will save the information you have entered to that point. Click on this button frequently!
- UM-St. Louis cannot accept any application materials (resumes, cover letters, etc.) by email, mail, or walk-in. All applications and application materials must be submitted through our online application system.
- We recommend that you combine your cover letter and resume into one document and then attach it as your resume to the application. Be sure you name the document appropriately.
If you want to add a cover letter after you have already submitted your application, you can apply for the position again since we review only the most recently submitted application. Combine your cover letter and resume and attach it (as described above). Please note that you will have to respond to the questions in the Applicant Questionnaire section of the application when you apply again.
- Do NOT use your browser's "back," "refresh," or "forward" buttons. You may lose all data you have entered to that point.
- All final candidates for positions at UM-St. Louis are subject to a criminal background check. Any offer of employment is contingent upon receipt of a successful background report. In order to process this background check, personal data must be collected and verified following the candidate’s acceptance of a contingent offer of employment. This information includes:
- Social Security Number
- Date of Birth
- Driver's License Number and State
