Employee Recognition Programs
To recognize our excellent, hard-working staff, the University has established the following programs:
Riverstars Employee of the Month Award Program
Each month, the Human Resources Department recognizes an outstanding staff member who excels in a particular area (the month's theme) as the Riverstars Employee of the Month. Themes include Positive Attitude, Effective Leadership, Good Work Ethic, and Outstanding Customer Service.
Chancellor's Award for Staff Excellence
Each year the Chancellor recognizes three outstanding UM-St. Louis staff members. A $1,000 award recognizes individual staff contributions to the University in each of three categories -- administrative/professional, office/technical, and service/maintenance.
The University of Missouri service award program is a way to recognize the valuable contributions made by staff on behalf of the University. The awards are given to regular employees who have continuous service in increments of five (5) years.
