Your First Day Checklist
Your first day on a new job can be very overwhelming. This checklist should help you make sure you find the information and resources you need to get through your first day successfully.
PAPERWORK
- Complete your "New Hire" paperwork
- Attend the UMSL New Hire Orientation (and take advantage of the opportunity to request a mentor!)
- Obtain your temporary parking permit
- Enroll in benefits (within the first 30 days of date of hire)
WORKSPACE
- Check out your primary work area
- Know where your personal belongings may be kept
- Learn about your building/office access and keys
- Find out about parking access and policies
- Find out about any equipment or clothing (e.g., pagers, uniforms, etc.) that will be assigned and responsibilities for maintaining those materials
- Know where supplies are kept and any responsibilities you may have for usage or re-ordering
