The Scholastic Writing Contest is an opportunity for all students grades 7-12.  We hope you will encourage your student writers to develop and polish one or more of their works as a contest entry.  

Missouri Writing Region of the Scholastic Writing Awards 

The 2016 Scholastic Writing Awards will open September 15 and will accept submissions from all students grades 7-12.  Please follow the directions to register here:  New this year – payments will be made online.  If you have questions or would like flyers to pass out to students, contact Kate Willaredt ( Students who win state gold or silver key awards will be honored at a reception and reading at the Write to Learn Conference at Tan-Tar-A on February  25, 2016. This is an awesome event for teachers, family, and students. Over 500 attended last year. This year’s reception is sponsored by Missouri State University’s College of Arts and Letters.
