Governance
The Center for Ethics in Public Life was established in 2007 as one of the University’s specialized centers for public service. (For a list of the University’s other specialized centers, refer to the University Bulletin.) The Center for Ethics in Public Life reports directly to the Office of the Provost at the University. In keeping with the Center’s combined focus on the needs of both practitioners and scholars, two advisory committees have been put in place to provide support, legitimacy and guidance to the Center’s activities. A community advisory committee, comprised of respected public managers and former elected officials, maintains the Center’s strong connection to the concerns of practitioners. A faculty committee helps guide the Center’s research and teaching pursuits.
