UM-St. Louis/Washington University Joint Undergraduate Engineering Program

The Joint Undergraduate Engineering Program, established in 1993, is a pioneering partnership in which UM-St. Louis and Washington University joined forces to make an undergraduate engineering education available to nontraditional students. Renamed the UM-St. Louis/Washington University Joint Undergraduate Engineering Program, it offers a bachelor's degree in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering through the UM System, and students often take their pre-engineering courses at UM-St. Louis.

Upper-division engineering courses are taught by Washington University faculty in the evenings and on Saturdays. Students are encouraged to jump-start their careers by working part-time during the day in an engineering-related position.

The generosity of alumni, corporate partners and friends help these students flourish. Each gift assists the program in achieving its goals: excellence in teaching, research, service and outreach; nurturing students' intellectual abilities; and connecting with the community through a variety of relationships.
