Anheuser-Busch to help UMSL establish new business building

The Anheuser-Busch Foundation has pledged $2.5 million over the next five years to the University of Missouri-St. Louis toward the construction of a new College of Business Administration building. UMSL is in the early stages of fundraising and planning for the new Anheuser-Busch Hall to house the business school's classrooms, research, technology and meeting facilities under one roof.  

Helen Shopmaker donates political collection to Mercantile Library

On Oct. 23, the St. Louis Mercantile Library, located on the campus of the University of Missouri-St. Louis, made the Dr. Allen B. and Helen S. Shopmaker American Political Collection available for public viewing. An event was held in honor of Helen Shopmaker to kick off the opening of the display.

Pierre Laclede Society donors honored

A reception was held Oct. 21 at the University of Missouri-St. Louis to thank the first group of donors to the university's Pierre Laclede Society. Plaques were unveiled listing the names of about 700 individuals who contributed to the PLS in 2006, the society's inaugural year.

Anheuser-Busch receives Lee Medal

Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. received the Des and Mary Ann Lee Medal for Philanthropy from the University of Missouri-St. Louis at its 17th annual Founders Dinner held Oct. 3 at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel. The dinner is held each year to recognize the university’s outstanding donors, faculty, staff and alumni.

UM-St. Louis' Child Development Center receives gift

The University Child Development Center at the University of Missouri-St. Louis received a $15,000 donation Oct. 12 from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Metro St. Louis. The gift will assist in funding the construction of a new outdoor learning environment for children of the center, ages six months to three years.

Harris receives Lee Medal

Alumni, friends, faculty, students and staff of the University of Missouri-St. Louis rose to their feet Sept. 25 as noted St. Louis philanthropist and attorney Whitney R. Harris took the stage in the main ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton in Clayton, Mo.
