Teaching Consultations

Faculty and Teaching Assistants may schedule a confidential consultation about teaching, a student feedback session, and/or a classroom observation. CTL staff are available to discuss alternative instructional strategies and how to involve students in course improvement efforts. Classroom observations can be requested to review teaching practices, content organization and pacing, presentation styles, use of technology, instructional strategies, and classroom management techniques.

Possible topics for individual consultation include:

  • Course development
  • Small Group Instructional Feedback (SGIF)
  • Teaching with Technology

Mid-Semester Feedback System
Early feedback provides information faculty can use immediately to make adjustments or improvements in courses while the semester is in progress. Faculty can register as soon as the semester begins. After the registration period closes, students in registered courses will receive an e-mail message via student mail requesting them to complete the online survey. Only the instructor has access to the feedback. Please contact Dr. Peggy Cohen (x5308) or Dr. Cheryl Bielema (x7134) if you have questions about mid-semester feedback or would like to schedule a personal consultation.
